Hair Care
For most pet owners, hair care is an important area of concern specially with regards
to Dogs. The quality and lust in the pet's hair is representative of not only outer
beauty but also inner health of the dog.
Hair Fall / Loss
Shedding is a natural loss of hair in dogs that allows the new coat to come in.
All dogs shed, some more then others. Some breeds have a seasonal shedding season
in the spring, as their winter coats are lost. But if your dog is an indoor dog
it may not be outside enough for the dog's body to register the change of season,
so he may shed all year round.
Grooming is the key here. Keeping in mind that the hair is going to fall out either
way and it is best to remove it yourself and throw it in the trash. Brushing your
dog once a day will greatly reduce the unwanted hair all over your clothes, carpet
and furniture, especially during shedding season. In case of bald spots or too much
noticeable hair loss, consider a visit to the vet.
Bathing
Bathing is considered to be a stress for dogs. So, we recommend weekly bathing in
summers and fortnightly bathing in winters. Brushing should be done regularly. The
correct method of brushing is very important. Use of a double sided brush, with
a hard side and soft side, the hard side should go against the direction of hair
growth and the soft side in the direction of the hair growth. DIET The diet should
be enriched with coat care supplements containing Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids.
